Time loops the wrist of the cricketer, twisting his bat, adjusting his cap, against the late sun arriving as he takes strike.

Little magic now conjured from the willow, less likely to strike the oak, with a red bang in its branches, on guard over the churchyard,

The clock strikes the hour.  The stance seems firm.  A click.....and the snickering.  Grey reaper lifts a flickering finger.

NETS 2014

Four sessions into our 2014 net programme at Brune Park School and the numbers have been really strong, our best turnout for a number of years. We`ve seen some new faces which is great (and they look like quality players too) along with some familiar figures and also most encouragingly some young players with a further winter`s beef on them who look like they might do some damage in the League this year - a mouth-watering prospect.

Due to the clear appetite to train we`re seeing this year and the poor ground conditions at Rowner Green which are likely to delay the start of our campaign we have added a further weekend session. Although there will be a break on Saturday 5th April (which is incidentally NatWest Cricketforce weekend) we will have a session on Saturday 12th April betweeen 1-2pm. As ever anyone interested in joining and participating, whether it be Saturday or Sunday, League or friendly is most welcome. The new faces we have seen so far at nets and the very real interest from others in joining RCC is a real boost for 2014 for our great club, as we celebrate our 39th year as a Hampshire Cricket League participant. SEE YOU AT NETS !
